The Litchfield-Morris Rotary Club is selling American flag kits to benefit the Bantam Fire Company and East Litchfield Volunteer Fire Company.
Rotary Club President Bob Kluge of Morris announced the sale during the club’s meeting Friday at St. Michael’s Church.
The club’s flag sale has benefited other fire departments and Litchfield Volunteer Ambulance in past years. Bantam and East Litchfield are taking turns as beneficiaries this year. One-hundred percent of the profits from the sale of the flag kits will be awarded to the two departments.
Kits are $50 and include a 3-foot by 5-foot made in the USA flag, a 6-foot long heavy duty pole, and a multi-positioning bracket to hold the pole.
Kits can be purchased from Mickie Ann Budny at Litchfield Bancorp and can be ordered by calling Kluge at 860-567-4128 or Eddie Cunningham at 860-567-1300.
The Rotary Club is also preparing to host a free family picnic dinner June 9 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Litchfield Community Center. Dinner will include hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, chips and fresh cut veggies. To register to attend the dinner, go to thecommunitycenter.org by noon on June 8.
