Mother’s Day isn’t until Sunday, but that didn’t stop the Morris Senior Center Commission from getting into the swing of things on Friday.

The commission held a drive-thru at which it distributed complimentary Mother’s Day boxes to go of finger sandwiches, scones and tea provided by BritsBrand, a group of local ladies of British pedigree who have been satisfying taste buds in the area for several years with their delicious baked goods.

Handing out boxes were commission Chairman Harriet Ellis, commission members Dot DeLuca, Cathy Wheeler and Linda McMaster, and senior center Director Kristen Davila. Although there was no charge for the boxes, those picking them up left generous donations that will help the commission offset the cost of the event.
