The weathered but still iconic Litchfield Hills Information Booth on the Green is expected to have new life beginning May 1 and running through Nov. 1.
The town’s Economic Development Commission is putting together a volunteer force to staff the booth at least from Friday through Sunday for the six months. More volunteers stepping forward would allow the booth to be open more days.
The EDC outlined its plan during a recent meeting at Town Hall. Volunteers, who will be trained in their duties, will provide directions to locations in town and hand out information about town businesses and restaurants, historic sites, and recreation opportunities.
A trial run last year saw the booth open for roughly 35 days during the spring, summer and early fall as the town celebrated its 300th anniversary.
