St. Paul’s Lodge No. 11 of Litchfield, home of the Masons, honored Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, with a fundraising supper Saturday at the Litchfield firehouse that was highlighted by the sound of bagpipes, a toast of Scotch whiskey, and the sight of men in kilts. One of them was Mason Ricky McDonnell of Bantam, below, who organized the dinner to pay tribute not only to the work of Burns but also to raise money for Friendly Hands Food Bank in Torrington and give the Masons something to do on a winter’s night. Masons Mark Dzurnak, left in top photo, and Matt Sweet, along with Sweet’s wife, Laurie, were in attendance. BZ photos
