Litchfield Track Club runners survived 30 mph wind gusts and muddy conditions at the Region I Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championships at Sunken Meadow State Park on Long Island, N.Y. Sunday.
One LTC age-group team and five individual runners qualified to compete in the National USATF Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championships in Madison, Wis., in December.

Gwen Krukar and Attie Bergin, both of Goshen, and Alexa Johnston of Northfield are part of the 8-and-under team

Abbie Johnston of Northfiield, running for the girls’ 13-14 team, advanced to the national championships.
