A state grant of $6,800 has allowed the town of Morris to purchase six automated external defibrillators, devices that can be used to save victims of cardiac arrest.

The devices will be installed at Town Hall, the transfer station, town garage, town beach, and senior center. The sixth is a mobile unit that will be on board buses leaving the senior center for events.

Town employees will be trained in the use of the AEDs, according to First Selectman Thomas Weik, who thanked Litchfield Volunteer Ambulance Chief John Pudlinski and LVA personnel for their offer to provide the training.
