The Litchfield Hills U-18 girls’ premier soccer team ended its season recently with a 3-2 win over Simmons Premier.

It was the last game for the seven seniors on the team who will be heading off to college in the fall. Four of the girls have been with the team since its inception in 2014.
Litchfield got off to a good start with a goal by eighth-grader Emily Migliorisi off an assist from Litchfield junior Christina Orsini. Migliorisi, who normally plays with the younger team, was brought up to bolster the defense, but provided some crucial offensive minutes for the team.
Litchfield junior Allie Davenport scored on a penalty kick to increase the lead to 2-0. Simmons fought back and with three minutes to go tied the score at 2-2 on a breakaway.
With 60 seconds left, Davenport picked up the ball off of a defection and fired a shot from 22 yards, slotting the ball perfectly in the net corner for the game-winning goal.
Litchfield finished 2-2-3.
