Voters in Morris will have a say on a proposed town budget of $9,229,882 for 2019-20 on Wednesday.
The spending plan will be considered during a town meeting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The proposal is $47,399 less than the current budget of $9,277,281, which would allow the Board of Finance to lower the tax rate from 26.57 mills to 25.54 mills.
Education spending of $5,975,180 is the largest component of the proposed budget. Municipal spending is $3,237,002. Another $17,700 is included for the town’s share of the contribution municipalities would make to the state teachers’ pension fund.
