Village Restaurant, Winos to meet for hoop title

The Village Restaurant and the Village Wine Cellar will square off for the Litchfield Men’s Basketball League championship.
 
In the league tournament semifinals Thursday, the Village Restaurant edged Litchfield Bancorp, 58-54, and the Village Wine Cellar downed Thomaston Oil, 68-55. The championship game will be played next Thursday at 7:15 p.m. at the Forman School.
 
For the Village Restaurant, Garrett Fancher had 20 points and Charlie O’Neill 12. Juan Montas led Litchfield Bancorp with 19 points and Mike Fritch added 13. 
 
Scott Beebe tossed in 23 points and T.J. Doyle 18 for the Village Wine Cellar. Ben Yaffe had 17 points and Devon Parker 16 for Thomaston Oil.
