A strong postseason run for the Litchfield girls soccer team was halted in the quarterfinals on Saturday as the Cowgirls lost at East Hampton, 2-1.
After Alanna McKenna tied the score for Litchfield, East Hampton scored on a penalty kick after a hand-ball call against the Cowgirls and hung on the rest of the way.
Litchfield finished 12-7 under first-year coach Marissa Quesnel. The Cowgirls will lose 12 seniors to graduation, but will return more than a dozen players from this season's roster.
Allie Davenport was a big contributor on the forward line.
Goalie Sydney Donohue was solid all season.
