Solid pitching keys Wamogo win over Nonnewaug

Cyrena Zemaitis pitched Wamogo to another big softball win on Wednesday.
 
Zemaitis spun a seven-hitter and struck out seven to lead the Warriors to an 11-3 win over Nonnewaug. She also belted a home run as her team improved to 9-2 heading into Friday's showdown at Berkshire League leader Thomaston.
 
"This was a big confidence builder for us," Wamogo coach Dave Sylvester said. "We're a young team and we're learning the game, but we play for one another and we want to win."
 
Caitlin Maliszewski added two hits and three RBI and Mackenzie Harnett had two hits and one RBI for the Warriors. Olivia Cook was a defensive standout in right field.
