The defensive pressure Berkshire League opponents can expect from Wamogo this season was on full display Wednesday as the Warriors defeated Gilbert 77-59 to improve to 4-1.
Wamogo pressed from the start and although Gilbert was able to score easily at times the Yellow Jackets eventually wilted under the constant pressure from coach Gregg Hunt's small but quick team.
The defensive intensity produced several steals the Warriors turned into points in building leads of 25-19 after one quarter and 41-30 at halftime. Gilbert played Wamogo evenly in the third quarter but the Warriors went on a 22-11 tear in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
Garrett Sattazahn sparked the scoring parade with 27 points. Ethan Collins added 17 points, Reid Turtoro 15 and Sean Coffey 13.
