Northwestern puts clamps on Cowboys in BL tourney

It was one and done for Litchfield High's boys basketball in the Berkshire League tournament.
The Cowboys shot poorly, had too many turnovers and were killed on the boards in a 50-36 loss to Northwestern at Thomaston High School on Saturday. Litchfield is 11-10 and begins preparation for the Class S tournament.
With the score tied at 15 midway through the second quarter, Northwestern went on an 8-0 run to end the first half with a 23-15 lead. The Highlanders scored the first 11 points of the second half and cruised from there.
Litchfield's leading scorer, Darrin Newbury, and best outside shooter, Steve Ringquist were held in check. Ryan O'Neill came off the bench for the Cowboys and had some success offensively.
