Local runners endure rain at Kent Pumpkin Run

Several local runners participated in the Kent Pumpkin Run 5-miler in rainy conditions on Sunday.
A total of 317 runners crossed the finish line. The top four finishers all ran under 25 minutes, the first time in the history of the race.
Local runners also added to the fast times. In the female division, Sherri Odell (34:28), Gianna Russo (36:32) and Brynn Bergin (36:41) placed sixth, seventh and eighth.
Odell was fifth in the women’s 30-39 age division, Russo was first in the girls 15-18 age division, and Bergin was first in girls 14 and under. Michaela Breakell was 119th overall in 44:15. In the male division, Paul Rosenberg was 62nd overall in 38:49 and the legendary Bill Borla ran away with the over 70 division in 38:41.
In a one-mile run for children, Attie Bergin was first female finisher and brother Cian was the second male finisher.
