Litchfield Track Club athletes headed to nationals

Nine Litchfield track Club athletes have qualified for the National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Rock Chalk Park in Lawenceville, Kan., July 24-30.
The athletes qualified during the Region I Junior Olympic Championships in Fitchburg, Mass., over the weekend.
The LTC’s boys 4x100-meter relay team placed second to earn a trip to the nationals. Running for the team were Tory Hammonds Jr., William Wilson, Dylan Myrie and Naseem Thompson all of Torrington.
Other qualifiers were Alex Brites in the boys 1500 meters; Riley Silva in the girls 100-meter hurdles; Billy Cook in boys high jump; Alyssa Fox in girls shot put; and Jillian Kilmer in girls heptathlon.
