Litchfield Hills Road Race was a day of memories

The 43rd Litchfield Hills Road Race is history after a beautiful day on Sunday saw more than 1,100 runners finish the prestigious 7-mile jaunt.

While the elite athletes were at the head of the field, hundreds of local runners had their day in the sun as well and put on terrific shows for the crowd. And let's not forget about the many volunteers who helped make the race a success. Some of them can be seen below.

The race is on as more than 1,000 runners head down West Street.
