Halloran wins annual Sandy Beach Triathlon (08-05-13)

The annual Sandy Beach Triathlon was held Friday evening at Sandy Beach on Bantam Lake in Morris and drew 149 individual participants and 17 three-person teams, as well as 24 boys and girls for a children's triathlon.
Participants in the main event swam a half-mile in Bantam Lake, cycled 10 miles around the lake and ran 3.1 miles out and back on East Shore Road.

Kyle Halloran of Litchfield was first in a time of 59 minutes. Eric Sandrib of Litchfield was second in 1:00.26. Brooke Lee Kinsler of Glastonbury was the first female finisher and was 18th overall in 1:08.01. Claire Wolfe of Roxbury was the runner up female and was 21st overall in 1:09.16.
Bill Houle of Morris once again served as the director of the event and was assisted by several volunteers who registered runners, served as course marshals and worked at the finish line.
