More than 200 athletes swam, cycled and ran in the annual Sandy Beach Triathlon on Friday.
The event was directed by its founder, Bill Houle of Morris, and was sponsored by Litchfield's Parks and Recreation Department.
Kyle Halloran of Morris was dominating in winning the triathlon, which consisted of a half-mile swim in Bantam Lake, a 10-mile bike ride around the lake, and a 3.1-mile run.
Local athletes Jim Moore, Sue Leigh and Tammy Grella turned in strong performances. Leigh and Grella won their respective age groups and Moore was second in his age group.

Kathi Peck of Goshen, who completed the Lake Placid Ironman Triathlon on Sunday in 13 hours and 22 minutes, was on hand as a volunteer and to present awards.
