Joshua (JT) Papa has had an excellent career as a student-athlete at Forman School, and his final season on the varsity basketball team just got sweeter. On Jan. 25, Papa scored his 1,000th point in a home game against Christian Heritage School.
The last Forman player to reach the milestone was Jay Zanois in 1989. Zanios finished his career with 1,017 points.
“JT's thousandth point was a hard-earned and well-deserved accomplishment,” Forman coach John Strawson said. “This milestone is a testament to his consistent hard work and dedication. It is even more impressive when you consider that he is the consummate team player.”
Last year, Papa made the All-Housatonic Valley Athletic League first team and All-New England first team. He averaged 25.4 points, four steals, and five rebounds per game last year.
“It's truly a blessing to score my 1,000th point at Forman,” Papa said. “Playing for Coach Strawson for four years has been amazing; I couldn't have asked for a better coach.“
