A Berkshire League boys soccer showdown turned into a mismatch Thursday as unbeaten Litchfield blitzed previously unbeaten Northwestern 6-1 at Plumb Hill Playing Fields.

Tim Donovan scored three goals, Miles Chapman had a goal and an assist, Carson Mello and Matt Gostowski each had a goal, and Charlie Shanks collected three assists as the Cowboys improved to 6-0 heading into a Saturday night date with Wamogo at Plumb Hill.

Litchfield dominated in the first half in taking a 3-0 lead. The lead ballooned to 6-0 before Northwestern finally managed a goal late in the second half.

Coleby Bunnell made six saves in goal for the Cowboys, who will play at unbeaten Lewis Mills next Friday night.
