Litchfield High's field hockey team continues to be the most improved team in the Berkshire League this season.

After a 2-0 win over Lewis Mills on Wednesday and a 1-0 win over Northwestern on Thursday, coach Lily Deering's Cowgirls are 8-3-1. Litchfield goes for its ninth win Friday at 6 p.m. at Wamogo.

Rachel Leigh scored the game-winning goal in the game against Northwestern at Plumb Hill Playing Fields. It was the first home game in five weeks for the Cowgirls, who have been on the road due to soggy conditions at Plumb Hill.

Rachel Leigh clears the ball from in front of the Litchfield goal.

Casey Small moves the ball for the Cowgirls.
