It has come down to a two-game season for Litchfield High's boys basketball team.
The Cowboys defeated Lewis Mills 47-36 on Tuesday to improve to 6-12 and need to win their last two games to qualify for the Class S tournament. It won't be an easy task, as they'll host Gilbert on Friday and play at Housatonic on Wednesday.
In Tuesday's win, Litchfield took charge in the second quarter by outscoring Mills 16-4. The surge put the Cowboys up 26-12 at halftime and had them on their way to a second straight win.
Quinlan McCarthy led the Cowboys with 15 points, 11 of which came from the free-throw line. Kyle Murphy added 10 and Drew Gauvain and Steve Ringquist each had seven.
