Cowboys edge Wamogo in well-played contest

Matt Schweter pitched six innings to pick up the win and Tom Brady set down the side in order in the seventh inning as Litchfield got past Wamogo 3-2 on Monday.

Sean Coffey was superb on the mound for the Warriors, tossing a three-hitter and striking out six. Schweter and Brady combined on a two-hitter.

Schweter and Connor Ryle each had a double for the Cowboys, who came back from a 2-1 deficit. Ryan Threlfall belted a two-run double for Wamogo.

Litchfield is 5-12 and needs to win its remaining three games to qualify for the Class S state tournament. Wamogo (4-12) needs to sweep its last four games to make the tournament.
