Litchfield High's boys soccer team advanced in the Class S tournament with a 5-1 win over Windsor Locks at Plumb Hill Playing Fields on Wednesday.
The Cowboys (11-5-1) will play at undefeated Old Saybrook on Friday at 2 p.m. It will be a rematch of a tournament game two years ago in which Litchfield edged Old Saybook on penalty kicks.
"We played a sound, solid game," Litchfield coach Rob Andrulis said of the dominance his team showed against Windsor Locks. "It was a good, all-around effort."
Tim Donovan scored two goals for the Cowboys and Charlie Shanks, Carson Mello and Miles Chapman each netted a score. Coleby Bunnell played another strong game in goal.
Leading 3-1 after one half, the Cowboys put the game away quickly as Shanks scored early in the second half to make it 4-1. Chapman capped the scoring.
