Put a tariff on products created abroad by American corporations and then brought back into the USA. The tariff should equal what the cost of manufacturing that product in the USA would be. Thus, the added cost of transporting those items to the USA, which would also not be tax deductible, would made it far fess advantageous to manufacture abroad. Treat those products as if they were manufactured by a foreign corporation. In other words, no tax advantages and high tariffs for those American corporations that have decided to manufacture abroad. Also, require state and federal governmental agencies and any entities that receive federal or state subsidies and/or aid, eg. school districts, to purchase ONLY goods that are completely manufactured in the USA.

We will now begin accepting letters to the editor. Letters should be 250 words or less. We encourage letters which offer solutions to existing problems rather than just complaining or blaming others. Letters can be forwarded to webmaster@litchfield.bz. Please include your full name, email address and phone number so we can verify authorship. We reserve the right to edit material for content. Opinion Page
We all have opinions on any number of local issues. The Opinion section will be a forum in which you may express your opinions and concerns. No one will have a monopoly on this space - not even us. We will attempt to enhance participation by publishing a weekly survey question seeking insightful responses. Periodic surveys measuring the positions of our audience on particular issues will round out this section, which will be fair and balanced.

We encourage our audience to contribute newsworthy material to each of the sections of Litchfield.bz by sending information, articles, photos, videos, pod casts and other content to webmaster@litchfield.bz. We reserve the right to edit material for content.
