Wamogo Regional High School art teacher Wendy Costa captured a $5,000 first prize in a recent art contest at Indian Mountain School in Lakeville.
Costa’s digital infrared photo titled “Innisfree Waterfall” was judged the best of 20 photos and paintings judged by cartoonist, writer and director Sandra Boynton, Museum of Modern Art president emeritus Agnes Gund, and New York City art gallery owner Craig Starr. Water was the theme of the contest.
Costa took the photo at a nature conservancy in Millbrook, N.Y.
The work of Costa and the other participating artists is on display at Indian Mountain School student center until March 2. Costa’s portfolio of infrared photos can be viewed at alternaterealityphoto.com.
