The 27th annual Festival of Trees at the Oliver Wolcott Library was a huge succes on Saturday as it drew more than 400 supporters of the library for an evening of food and drink, live and silent auctions, and plenty of camaraderie.

A committee headed by Colette Boyd, who serves on the library's board of trustees, organized the event. Others on the committee were Cara Blazier, Egils Bogdanovics, Carole Gibney, Drew Harlow, Kyra Hartnett, Robertson Hartnett, Megan Kowalchick. Maura Malo, Beth Murphy, Cate O'Dwyer, Marla Patterson and Holly Taylor.

Numerous businesses and individuals were major sponsors of the fundraiser and several dozen volunteers beyond the organizing committee contributed to making the night a success. Members of the board of trustees were on hand as were library Director Ann Marie White and her staff.

Proceeds from the event will be used to help fund programs and services at the library, which is considered as one of the best libraries in the state and one that keeps growing thanks to the support of the community.
