The campaign for governor came to Litchfield on Friday as Republican candidate Bob Stefanowski appeared at @The Corner for a rally organized by the Republican Town Committee.

Stefanowski, who has been surging in the polls heading into Tuesday's election, spoke to a crowd of more than 50 local residents, elected officials and candidates and urged them to keep pushing hard until the polls open. The businessman from Madison is holding a slight edge over Democratic candidate Ned Lamont in some polls.

State Sen. Craig Miner, R-Litchfield, and State Rep. David T. Wilson, R-Litchfield, also addressed the gathering. Both are seeking second terms on Tuesday. Republican Town Committee Chairman Bill Burgess, state treasurer candidate Thad Gray and 5th District Congressional candidate Manny Santos spoke as well.
