Litchfield's annual Good Friday Easter egg hunt was more popular than ever as hundreds of children descended on Community Field to search for eggs placed in the grass.
The hunt was sponsored by the parks and recreation department, the Litchfield Candy Co., and WZBG FM 97.3. Brent Hawkins, the department's director, ran the show with help from his assistant, Lisa Beyer, and members of the parks and recreation commission.
A big draw was the candy-guessing contest, the winner of which will be announced on Monday. The winner gets to take home a basket of candy supplied by the Litchfield Candy Co. and wins a free dental exam and cleaning at the office of Dr. William Fabbri.
