In keeping with tradition on Sunday, Northfield's Memorial Day observance came a week late.

The tribute on the Northfield Green was held by the Northfield Village Improvement Society and featured greetings from Selectman Paul Parsons and a keynote speech by Connecticut Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Torianno Riberio of Northfield. Tom Butwell of the Northfield Volunteer Fire Co. was the master of ceremonies.

After the observance, participants lined up on Main Street and marched to the Northfield Cemetery for another ceremony. A reception followed at the firehouse.
