The Litchfield Historical Society's new garden and meadow behind the Tapping Reeve House and Litchfield Law School was alive with energy on Saturday as the historical society hosted an apple harvest festival complete with activities and games, live music and homemade apple cider.

The garden and meadow was completed in late summer and gives the historical society another tool for its education mission.

Meghan Spangenberg provided the music.

Anne Raap, left, and Jerry Ackerman tour the garden.
