A day that will never be forgotten in Milton was remembered with an annual potluck supper at Milton Public Hall on Tuesday.
The gathering is held to recall how Milton rallied and came together after a tornado devastated the center of the tiny village on July 10, 1989. Residents shared food and memories of that fateful day 29 years ago when the sky turned black and green shortly before 5 p.m. and nature unleashed a furious attack of wind that leveled trees, damaged homes and cut off electricity for days.
Despite the destruction, Milton residents maintained their spirit, got to work and helped their community recover.
