Meeting to address ongoing blackout of Channel 3
Litchfield.bz (02-15-17)

Optimum from Altice customers in Litchfield, Warren, Morris and Goshen will have a chance to comment on the ongoing blackout of WFSB Channel 3 during an upcoming meeting of the Cable Television Advisory Council.

The council representing the eight Litchfield County municipalities affected by the blackout will hold a special meeting Feb. 22 at Thomaston Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Customers have been without WFSB, a CBS affiliate, since Jan. 13. WFSB was removed from the Optimum lineup because its owner, the Meredith Corp., and Optimum have been unable to reach a new retransmission agreement. The blackout also affects Optimum customers in parts of New Haven County and all of Fairfield County.

The Feb. 22 meeting will include an update on the negotiations between WFSB and Optimum, potential options for CBS programming, and compensation to Optimum subscribers for lost service.
