Senior citizens from Litchfield and surrounding towns enjoyed lunch and musical entertainment during the Parks and Recreation Department's annual senior soiree at the Litchfield Community Center on Thursday.
Parks and recreation Director Brent Hawkins, his assistant, Lisa Beyer, and volunteer Chris Alexander oversaw the soiree. In a new twist, students from the culinary arts program at Oliver Wolcott Technical School in Torrington prepared the meal of lasagna, bread, salad and dessert.
Hawkins asked the school if it would cater lunch because the previous caterer, D'Amico's Restaurant, is no longer in business. The Jerry Carillo Orchestra of Torrington was back as the musical entertainer.
