Life-saving machine donated to Sandy Beach

It was a big day at Sandy Beach on Bantam Lake on Wednesday as the Litchfield Lions Club and the Litchfield-Morris Rotary Club presented an automatic external defibrillator to the Sandy Beach Commission. The two clubs covered the $1,200 cost of the machine that can be used in the event of a cardiac arrest or other emergency at the beach. Litchfield First Selectman Leo Paul Jr., a member of the Lions Club, is holding the AED.
