Kenyan shatters Litchfield Hills Road Race record

It was a record-setting day at the Litchfield Hills Road Race on Sunday.
Taking advantage of ideal racing conditions, Linus Kiplagat of Kenya won the race in a LHRR record 33:17. His time broke the record of 33:21 set by Godfrey Kiprotich in 1997. Margaret Wamahigg, a Kenyan, was the first female finisher with a time of 39:29.
Winner Linus Kiplagat makes the turn onto West Street.
Tyler Pennel of Blowing Rock, N.C., was second in 33:34 and Isaac Mukundi of Kenya third in 33:52.
Colin Gannon, a former Litchfield High standout, was 13th in 38:34. Brandon Leclair of Goshen was 15th in 39:34 and Sami Glass of Goshen was 24th in 42:38. Glass was the sixth female finisher. Jim Zoldy of Goshen was 32nd in 44:08.
