U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty stopped in Goshen on Wednesday to visit Thorncrest Farm and sample its milk and chocolate.
Esty was given a tour of the dairy farm's barn by farm owner Clint Thorn as part of her effort to educate herself on issues affecting farmers. She also ducked into Milk House Chocolates, which is located in the barn and is run by Thorn's wife, Kim. Kim Thorn's artisan chocolates are made using milk from the farm's cows.
Esty sampled several chocolates before buying a box of them.
The visit by Esty capped off a longtime desire to see the Thorncrest operation. Esty met Clint and Kim Thorn at the Goshen Agricultural Council's annual farm to table dinner and was invited to the farm by the couple.
