The Litchfield Hills Road Race organizing committee got road race weekend off to its usual fun start with cocktails and dinner at the Litchfield Inn's Tavern off the Green on Friday evening.
Race President Beth Murphy and Director John Clock served as hosts for a crowd of about 100 that enjoyed the hospitality of Tavern off the Green owner John Roller and his staff. Race co-founder Billy Neller, race announcer Brent Hawkins, children's race sponsor Ted Murphy, and longtime race supporters Gary and Cindy Zeller were among the dignitaries in attendance.
Another day of race-related events is happening Saturday in preparation for Sunday's 41st annual race at 1 p.m.
