Fire consumed much of a barn at 326 Maple St. in Litchfield on Saturday night.
The fire was reported by residents of the address at 11:17 p.m. and drew firefighters from Bantam, Litchfield, East Litchfield, Northfield, Morris and Goshen.
Firefighters had to rely on water from tankers because there were no fire hydrants or fire ponds near the property. The barn, a post and beam structure, was fully involved when the first Bantam firefighters arrived.
The owner of 326 Maple St., Lacie Membrino, said the fire destroyed dirt bikes, an all-terrain vehicle, a snowmobile and a tractor.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Litchfield Fire Marshal Samuel Kinkade and the state fire marshal are investigating.
