November activities in the Adult Library

Library Display Case.
November’s display case, ‘Home for the Holidays,’ celebrates Thanksgiving with a collection of vintage prints, paintings, and collectibles. Featured are works by well-known artist and illustrator, Tasha Tudor. Skillfully rendered watercolors of Litchfield County by local artist, Bronte Christian, lend charm, as do oil paintings of early 20th-century New England landscapes. Antique painted farm-stand signs, a fall-hued quilt, painted 18th-century pantry box, and wooden covered bridge by a Cornwall crafter are among the unique period pieces arranged in colorful vignettes, with pumpkins and apples adding decorative detail.

Adult Book Display.
In anticipation of the holidays to come, the adult book display features a selection of craft and cooking ideas. Among the titles selected to make the season bright are: The Christmas Stocking; Dough Crafts; Gift-Giver’s Cookbook; Great Gifts: Hundreds of Easy-to-Make Craft Projects; Hand Knit Holidays; Making Wreaths; and Ultimate Christmas.

These books, as well as others, can be searched in the Library’s catalog, or in the regional Bibliomation Global catalog, on the Library’s website (www.morrispubliclibrary.org) and requested online. Titles can also be reserved by calling the Library at 860-567-7440.
