Andrew J. Pike
Litchfield, CT

Andrew Jonathon Pike, beloved son of Renee Betar and Wilbur Pike of Litchfield, CT, and brother of Cory Pike of Salt Lake City, died in an accident near his home on June 27. A master tradesman, Andrew was founder and proprietor of Pike Finishing Company and had become well-known for his work in Litchfield County during the past two decades. His craftsmanship extended from wood-working artistry to large-scale building and home improvement. He brought a fine touch to everything he did.

Born in Torrington, CT on June 6, 1971 and raised in Litchfield, Andrew graduated from Litchfield High School and received a BA in Economics from Hartwick College in 1993 where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He was a talented drummer, an accomplished swimmer, a Wally ball enthusiast, and from a young age, a spirited entrepreneur. His love of life and learning resulted in a range of accomplishments from building a house to carrying on the tradition of cooking his family’s Syrian recipes. He had a passion for horticulture and gardening and was at his best caring for others.

Andrew is survived by his loving parents, sister, and brother-in-law, Mark Goddard, his niece and nephew Eve and Glen Goddard; his grandparents, Ann and John Betar of Fairfield, CT; and his devoted partner, Susie Bertaccini of Litchfield. He is also fondly remembered by his stepmother, Lois Pike, and stepsisters, Alayne Washburn and Amy Anderson; and his aunts, uncles, and many cousins. To family and friends, Andrew was a special blend of generosity, know-how, and gentle, genuine goodness.
