After a stretch of tough games, Litchfield High's boys soccer caught a break when it faced Northwestern at Plumb Hill Playing Fields on Thursday.

The Cowboys dominated from start to finish and won 5-0 to improve to 3-1-2. Northwestern, in a rebuilding season, was a step behind all afternoon.

Ryan Pickett put the Cowboys up 1-0 off an assist from Nick Hula. Philip Simonin made it 2-0 at halftime when he scored after a scramble in front of the goal.

Hula, off an assist from Quinn McKenna, scored from close range to make it 3-0 before Pickett netted his second goal and Nick Hall-Wiggins completed the scoring.

Litchfield plays at Gilbert Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
