Litchfield High's field hockey team improved to 2-3 with a 4-0 victory over Housatonic at Plumb Hill Playing Fields on Tuesday.
"We really needed the win, and the girls played well," Litchfield coach Michael Lyn Cappello said. "Winning was important because we have two tough games coming up."
The Cowgirls host Thomaston on Thursday and play at Wamogo on Friday night.
Jenny Cappello had a big game in Tuesday's win, scoring a goal and assisting on two others. Miranda Gosselin, Cassie Ganio and Lily Deering also scored for the Cowgirls, while Deering added an assist. Goalie Kaylee Cappello made four saves.
