The Litchfield Area Swim Team (Orcas) will begin their second season on Monday, October 18th at the Connecticut Junior Republic pool located at 550 Goshen Road, Litchfield. The team is led by head coach Patrick Marchand.

Patrick was the head coach for the Northwest Lasers for four years. Patrick began swimming at age 7 and swam all through elementary school, middle school, high school and was captain of the swim team at Springfield College. Patrick held a college record for eight years and still holds high school records in Torrington. Patrick works at YMCA Camp Mohawk full time working with children and staff year round. He coaches with his brothers Christopher and Jeremy, both accomplished swimmers and long time coaches.

The Litchfield Area Swim Team is a USA swim team that practices four nights a week. Practices are held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings beginning at 6:45 p.m. The team offers programs for all levels of swimming ages 7 and up. The swim season runs from October 18th through the end of March. There are special programs available for Middle School and High School swimmers. If your swimmer wants to improve their strokes, learn new strokes or improve their times, this is the program for your child.
