In Tuesday's girls soccer game between Litchfield and Wamogo, Litchfield's Isabelle Binstadt, top, pushes the ball towards the goal while being defended by Kerri Stolle; Wamogo goalie Jessica Binkowski makes one of her 16 saves; and Wamogo's Alexis Stickney, left, clears the ball in front of Stolle.
It was an easy-opening day win for Litchfield High's girls soccer team on Tuesday, as coach Brian Mongeau's club dominated Wamogo in winning 3-0 at Plumb Hill Playing Fields.
Marissa Quesnel, Mary Claire and Jenna Almai scored for the Cowgirls. Quesnel scored in the first half and Claire and Almai put the game away with their goals in the second half.
With the Cowgirls controlling play, goalie Kelly Lewis had a slow afternoon and needed to make just three saves in posting the shutout. Wamogo goalie Jessica Binkowski played well in her net in stopping 16 shots.
