Goalie Jessica Binkowski makes a save and Kendra Houle fires a shot during a recent Wamogo girls soccer practice. Head coach Roberto Medic, right, and assistant coach Patrick Holyst keep an eye on their players.
Wamogo's girls soccer team should learn a few things about itself when it plays at Litchfield in the season opener on Tuesday.
Coach Roberto Medic lost 10 seniors to graduation and filling those holes won't be easy, but there are several players back with experience gained over the past two seasons. Key returnees are seniors Olivia Martin, Dani Core and Jaime Squires, juniors Kerri Stolle and Megan Layman, and sophomores Jess Binkowski, Emma Williams, Hannah LaBonne and Alexis Stickney. Binkowski, the goalie, is expected to get a good workout in the net.
"We have some experience and some newcomers who will be looked upon to contribute immediately," Medic said.
