Paul Stancs and Jonathan Costa engaged in another epic duel for the Litchfield Country Club golf championship over the Labor Day weekend.

Stancs defeated Costa in a one-hole playoff to recapture the title he lost to Costa in a playoff last year. They were tied after their scheduled 36-hole match, and Stancs birdied the playoff hole to win the championship.

There were three other flights of competition in the club championship. In the first flight, Dan Fuessenich defeated Don Goss; in the second flight, it was Byron Round over John Lagattuta; and in the third flight, Adam Inselbuch edged Downey Stancs.

The women's club championship saw Jeanne FitzGerald win her 23rd club title by defeating Kate Taylor.
