Wendy Simoncelli hasn't lost her stroke in the water. At the fourth annual Open Water Swim at Lake Quassapaug in Middlebury on Saturday, the ageless Simoncelli finished second in the women's 50-59 age group with a time of 38:23 for 1.5 miles. She was 24th overall. Other locals competing were Visko Hatfield (43rd, 43:55), Brian Gildea (73rd, 50:21), Matt Karpas (78th, 51:43), and Jim Moore (81st, 52:13).
