Bob Davenport's 85th-place finish was tops among the local runners who competed in the New Haven Road Race on Monday.
The annual 12.4-mile race was the national 20-K championship and drew an elite field of runners to downtown New Haven.
Davenport finished in one hour, 15 minutes and seven seconds, a blistering pace of 6:03 per mile. John McKenna was 178th in 1:21.36, Dave Rockness 214th in 1:23.59, Ed Drapp 262nd in 1:26.03 and Matt Mette 441st in 1:32.11. Also finishing were Marcey Sass in 1:36.20, Pat Gormally in 1:44.32, Mike Simaitis in 1:51.40, Greg Oneglia in 1:52.10, Theresa Simaitis in 1:56.01 and Jim and JoJo Moore, Litchfield's first couple of road racing, in 2:07.26.
Brent Hawkins, meanwhile, graced the field in the accompanying 5-K race, finishing in 21:15. He was third in the 55-59 age group. Jodi Rockness finished in 25:26 and Rick Judd in 27:38.
