Stor-It-All repeats in women's softball
Litchfield.bz (8-16-10)

The Stor-It-All Bulldogs captured their second straight Litchfield Women's Softball League championship on Sunday by winning two of three games against Sportsmen's of Litchfield on Sunday at Community Field. The Bulldogs won the first game, 8-5, lost the second, 12-9, and won the deciding game 4-3. Chris Roscello's single scored Colleen Rood with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Rood led off the inning with a single, went to second on a single by Kimmie Emmonds, and raced home on Roscello's single to left. The Bulldogs advanced to the best of three series by defeating Litchfield Auto Parts 13-4 earlier in the day. Sportsmen's advanced by downing the Village Restaurant. The playoff tournament also served as a fundraiser for the league's scholarship program. This year's scholarship winner was Camille Richards of Sportsmen's, who will attend Springfield College. Stor-It-All captured the title without slugging player-coach Stacey Dionne, who was ill and couldn't play. But Dionne was on the bench to guide the team.
